Our Princess

1999~2011
Lauren Carolyn Falatea. Lauren, the oldest of four siblings, was born to Abraham and Priscilla Falatea of Salt Lake City, Utah. It became clear, early on, that our Father above had blessed Lauren with a distinctive gift. The gift to nurture. She shared a special bond with each and every one of her siblings and cousins. She will always be remembered for her motherly touch she possessed. This sweet spirit was sent here to earth to guide and remind us of Heavenly Father’s infinite love He has for His children.

In November 2010, it was discovered that Lauren’s physical heart was not strong enough to support her body. And, although physically her heart was not fit, the complete opposite could be said about her spirit and her drive. After being placed on a transplant list for less than 48 hours, Lauren had received not one, but two matches for a new heart. The miracles that continued to follow were without a doubt, awe inspiring, uplifting, and remarkable. Though faced with numerous challenges in such a short amount of time, Lauren’s spirit could not be defeated. Testimonies were strengthened, prayers were answered, and lives were touched as this sweet little girl defeated the odds that so many had predicted she wouldn’t. She brought her family together as one and captured the hearts of many doctors, nurses and aides- who in turn are now considered part of our Falatea family today. We will forever be grateful to the Cardiac Transplant team who from day one fought valiantly beside Lauren. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who cared for Lauren at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Lauren’s latest battle was against an infection that had spread to her lungs and brain. Regardless of how many health issues she was facing, her focus seemed to always be her family’s well being. If ever there was a person to demonstrate pure selflessness, Lauren would be that person. Only after assuring that her Mama, Teti, brothers, and sister were taken care of, did she return to her Father in Heaven. May 20, 2011 will not be remembered as a day of defeat, but a day that this precious spirit’s mission on earth had been fulfilled. We miss you dearly Princess Rennie, but rejoicingly await the day we will be with you again. Until then sweet angel, ofa atu, alofa ia te oe.

Lauren is survived by her parents, Abraham and Priscilla Falatea; her siblings, Vincent, Constance and Semisi; grandparents, Aisa Junior and Leatasina Falatea, and Tevita and Kalotia Moala; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at 9:00 am, Memorial Mortuary 5850 South 900 East Murray, UT. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Cemetery 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, UT.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello, you don't know me. I came across this story of Princess Rennie and after reading it I felt compelled to offer you my condolences for the loss of her companionship here on this earth. But, also to offer you the joy I felt about her life and trials while she was here. She was truely a teacher sent here by God. In reading I came to see what a remarkable girl she was. I am happy for your faith in God and your knowledge of salvation. I will pray for you to have strenghth during your time of grieving and joy during your lives of remembering her. My God, You are almighty. I praise You and thank You for sending us Your Son Jesus and for Your promise of salvation. My God please look over this family and give them strength as you accept the soul of Lauren Carolyn Falate back into Your flock. I pray that each and every family member knows Jesus and have accepted Him into their life, heart and soul so that one day they will all be together again. In Jesus name, Amen

I will miss you Lauren. What a sweet person you have been during your time here on earth, it's no wonder our Heavenly Father called you back. He needs His elect and you, my niece, are one of them. The world will mourn your passing because one of our earth bound angels returned home and we are left without. May we do all we can to live as you did so we can return and be with you once again. Love and miss you always.

Rennie has always been full of love, laughter and pure sweetness. I remember her hugs. No matter what she was doing, how far she was away from me in the room, she would find her way to me and make certain that I was hugged by her. I will miss her hugs and I look forward to the day with great anticipation when I can have one of her missed hugs again. Rest in love Rennie and may the Lord see fit to bless and exalt you above.
