SUU pulls off the surprise upset over UNLV

Our family was in town this past weekend to watch Fatu's road game against UNLV. Football in itself is entertaining, and family time is always fun... combine the 2 and it's a guaranteed good time! Especially when our team comes out victorious. Fatu's been injured so this was his first game back. I love watching him play and supporting him in his goals. He led his team in receiving and was sooooo close to scoring. The only sucky thing was that I forgot my camera :(

Couldn't believe that "Southern Utah" was trending on twitter! Had to snap a screen shot :)

We got to congratulate Fatu and Lavell before they left back to Cedar with the rest of their team. The next day we said goodbye to everyone and Mote and Siope cried like it was a funeral. Nic was optimistic and told them that it was ok because we were going to see them again. My parents might be coming out again to visit next week and Sila & Abe (and hopefully Neo) will be back here for Halloween. Yay!

Although it's hard to see them leave. We really do love having our family over to visit.

Back in School & Personalized Bins

The boys went back to school on the 29th of August. I still can't believe that all 3 of them are in full day! The house is so quiet now, it's kinda creepy. We put away all their new clothes in their closets and drawers, but there wasn't really anywhere for all their school supplies. The pencil boxes just aren't big enough anymore and the kitchen drawer where we were storing them is just getting way too cluttered. So I bought these inexpensive bins and decided to spruce them up so that A. we could tell which one belongs to which kid, and B. so that the boys would be excited about keeping their homework supplies organized.
Goosie's bin. The face didn't turn out as big as I wanted, but I was too lazy to redo it.
This is how big I wanted the face on the front, but it got cut off on my vinyl sheet. So I just threw it on the back of the bin.
Angry Birds for the 2 angry birds :)
So far so good with school. Everyone seems to be adjusting ok and surprisingly both mine and Ti's work schedules have been working out well with the kid's.

Party at The Putt Park

We are officially done with birthdays for 2011. Nic's birthday fell on a Friday this year, so Ti went and took him some cupcakes to pass out to his class during their lunch break. We held off celebrating his birthday until Monday though. The kids were off for the holiday and I was off of work... so we went miniature golfing at The Putt Park.

It turned out really fun even though 4 out of the 5 in our group sucked haha. Ti of course came in first place... surprise, surprise.
We tallied up the scores between the kids. Mote and Siope tied for first place and Nic came in 2nd <~ with a difference of only 1 point.

After golf we stopped by Poppy's to get some frozen yogurt...

We asked Nic what he wanted for his special birthday dinner. We told him that he could choose anything his little hear desired... and he chose hotdogs LOL. To spruce the dogs up we ended up BBQing them.

Nic is absolutely crazy about cheesecake, so instead of a traditional cake we got him a cheesecake that I topped with strawberry's. I would say that it was a pretty successful birthday. Happy birthday Nici! We love you!

Siope's Six!

We've been wanting to get everyone together for one last BBQ before school and Siope's birthday was the perfect opportunity to do so. He turned 6 on August 23rd, so we invited everyone over to hang out. The kids swam, they busted open the pinata, we had some amazing BBQ, and Siope blew out his candle over his cupcake tower. It really was a great night. Lawrence and Samiu ended up sleeping over so we had a slumber party to top things off. The kids had a BLAST!!!

Summer 2011 Recap

Oh my!... so the first week of school is done and over with and I have yet to even blog about summer. It seriously flew by! This was our first "real summer" because in the past the kid's were on a year-round school schedule. I was excited that we switched over to a traditional 9 month program because I've felt like we've been limited on what we've been able to do come summer.

The kids graduated from their classes in June...

Last day of school - woohoo!
... and at the end of the month we celebrated Mote's 8th Birthday ... yay!

Our neighbors John & Tina found out it was Mote's Birthday and asked if they could take him out to a baseball game with them. He was so excited!

After the game

Our family came out from Utah to be by his side as he reached an important milestone. We decided to make an entire weekend out of it so Friday we spent the day at Lake Mead.

After the lake we all came back to our place and BBQ'd. The next morning was Mote's baptism. I gave a talk about baptism and he was baptized by his Grandpa Kina and confirmed by his Grandpa Ti.

After the baptism we had lunch at our house <~ and by lunch I mean feast.
I could write an entire blog just on this cake. It was a disaster! An expensive disaster. We ended up ripping everything off and Sila put this together in like 10 min. Super cute flip!

What's a party without a pinata?!

Ate some more on Sunday and everybody left back to Salt Lake... including our 3 boys. They were so excited to go that they almost got in the car without even saying good bye <~ Why I oughta!! .... ;) The kids spent 4 whole weeks in Utah. Everyone kept saying that it must've been so nice to get a break from them, but it wasn't. It sucked!! Me and Ti didn't do anything special while they were gone. We probably did more moping then celebrating.  The kids, for the most part, did really well. There were times, of course, that we got phone calls of them crying... but for the most part they did good. There were also days where me and Ti were tempted to drive out and pick them up, but we held off and were glad that the boys got to spend the summer with their family in Utah. We enrolled Mote in a soccer camp while he was out there and he absolutely had a blast, so we are thinking about putting him in every summer. Throughout their time in Salt Lake I was constantly updated by Neo and she would send me pictures of them. Here's some of the pics that came through on my phone. In no particular order...

This was from Ti's phone. It was his first time visiting Rennie and he picked out the pretty flowers on the left.

After the 4 weeks, me and Ti finally got time off from work to go to Utah to pick up the boys. We brought them home and the next weekend Ti and the boys drove back up to Utah for Makai's baptism.

We will not be heading up to Utah anymore this year- thank you very much.
