Oh my!... so the first week of school is done and over with and I have yet to even blog about summer. It seriously flew by! This was our first "real summer" because in the past the kid's were on a year-round school schedule. I was excited that we switched over to a traditional 9 month program because I've felt like we've been limited on what we've been able to do come summer.
The kids graduated from their classes in June...

Last day of school - woohoo! |
... and at the end of the month we celebrated Mote's 8th Birthday ... yay!
Our neighbors John & Tina found out it was Mote's Birthday and asked if they could take him out to a baseball game with them. He was so excited!

After the game |
Our family came out from Utah to be by his side as he reached an important milestone. We decided to make an entire weekend out of it so Friday we spent the day at Lake Mead.
After the lake we all came back to our place and BBQ'd. The next morning was Mote's baptism. I gave a talk about baptism and he was baptized by his Grandpa Kina and confirmed by his Grandpa Ti.
After the baptism we had lunch at our house <~ and by lunch I mean feast.

I could write an entire blog just on this cake. It was a disaster! An expensive disaster. We ended up ripping everything off and Sila put this together in like 10 min. Super cute flip! |

What's a party without a pinata?! |
Ate some more on Sunday and everybody left back to Salt Lake... including our 3 boys. They were so excited to go that they almost got in the car without even saying good bye <~ Why I oughta!! .... ;) The kids spent 4 whole weeks in Utah. Everyone kept saying that it must've been so nice to get a break from them, but it wasn't. It sucked!! Me and Ti didn't do anything special while they were gone. We probably did more moping then celebrating. The kids, for the most part, did really well. There were times, of course, that we got phone calls of them crying... but for the most part they did good. There were also days where me and Ti were tempted to drive out and pick them up, but we held off and were glad that the boys got to spend the summer with their family in Utah. We enrolled Mote in a soccer camp while he was out there and he absolutely had a blast, so we are thinking about putting him in every summer. Throughout their time in Salt Lake I was constantly updated by Neo and she would send me pictures of them. Here's some of the pics that came through on my phone. In no particular order...

After the 4 weeks, me and Ti finally got time off from work to go to Utah to pick up the boys. We brought them home and the next weekend Ti and the boys drove back up to Utah for Makai's baptism.
We will not be heading up to Utah anymore this year- thank you very much.
